If you are a startup business you would find that social media is a platform you have to use, but may not have the necessary expertise to use it to your advantage. Social media is important, but for small businesses it may be time consuming. With so much work to do and see to, how do you make your business social media profiles work effectively and efficiently, while at the same time managing the core business?

First things first, you need to create a schedule. A schedule will reduce the effort you have to make during the day. You need to keep your presence and brand image in front of people all day long, this requires daily effort and output. If you are leaving an important business task to post on social media, you need to reconsider your strategy.

Set aside a time everyday to post on social media. For instance, allocate a couple of hours exclusively for social media. Either you can do it yourself, or have a social media company take charge. Schedule your posts during this time. You don’t have to come back to post during the day. Social media platforms offer numerous tools and techniques that allow you to schedule posts which will then appear at the set time. Also, remember to monitor social media metrics. This is integral to understanding whether your social media accounts are working. Take time each week to analyze your metrics and consider what is working and what is not.

One of the most important and time consuming tasks on social media is posting good content. Audiences crave for interesting and intriguing content and will certainly stick around if you produce it on a regular basis. And the ultimate hack is you can share the same stuff on numerous social media platforms. Remember, different people are on different platforms, for instance, the audience on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr may all be slightly different. Also, if you schedule posts at different times, once again various groups of people will see it depending on who is online at that time.

Social media needs a lot of consideration but do not ever think it is a waste of time. It is an investment and should be a part of your overall marketing strategy.
