5G technology was introduced with the intention of offering high-speed mobile internet that is more stable, allows quicker download, and supports the transfer of a vast amount of data in real-time from scores of connected devices.

It may take quite some time for 5G to be fully infused into our regular lifestyle. However, in countries like China, South Korea, and some states in the US, this technology is already taking a wide-scale adoption. Tech firms, entrepreneurs, innovators, banks, digital marketing agencies, hospitals, and other data-intensive organizations are key users of this technology and are said to benefit the most out of it. One such benefit is it gives the ability to build featureful apps without affecting performance. Here is how 5G makes it possible.

  1. Faster speed

5G technology aims to deliver a smooth and fast cellular connection. According to Intel, more specifically, this wireless network promises 100 times the speed offered by 4G networks. As 5G data transfer speeds range from 50 Mbit/s to over 2 Gibt/s, it facilitates lightning-fast downloads and file transfers. The promising speed is a key element that lets developers build feature-full apps without affecting performance or lags.

  1. Low latency

As of now, 4G networks exhibit an average latency of 50 milliseconds, whereas 5G technology aims to reduce this to just one millisecond. This ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) can allow the transfer of data between devices in real-time with minimum network hindrances. This, in turn, reduces delays in transfers and will also allow Mobile apps to perform better with a more enhanced UX even in a featureful app.

  1. Increased Connection Density

If you ever tried to connect to mobile data in a highly crowded place or public event, you’ll understand the importance of connection density. 4G connects up to 2000 devices within 0.38 square miles, while 5G can support up to a million devices. When combined with other benefits like better speed, and connectivity alongside low latency, it can support the web development of featureful apps without affecting performance. This is certainly great news for IOT (Internet Of Things) and mobile app development companies.

  1. Enhanced capacity

One of the main issues facing mobile app developers is to provide uninterrupted connectivity to a large audience. This is yet again an issue that 5G has managed to resolve with its high-end technology. As it increases speeds and connection densities, it results in enhanced capacities for users with the possibility of using a featureful app that doesn’t affect performance.

5G also promises a great optimization of network traffic and relatively smoother handling of usage spikes as many devices seamlessly communicate with sensors, machines and hardware.

  1. Enhanced Precision

5G uses short wavelengths and higher radio frequencies (roughly within the 30 GHz to 300 GHz range). This allows apps to run with much-improved precision capabilities than 4G and is tremendously useful for GPS-enabled devices. The increased bandwidth 5G has also supported better precision capabilities along with improved responsiveness. This benefit is mostly used to build featureful apps with high precision GPS-enabled services without lowering performance.

  1. Improved Battery Life

Normally when the phone battery runs low, it turns on to an energy-saving mode that increases the processing time of apps, making them extremely slow or causing one or more features in the app to lag your device.

5G’s reduced latency and high speed are very likely to support less battery consumption. This helps in increasing the battery life of smartphones and other IoT devices up to 10 times more. Users can therefore use their phones for longer (and so even the apps) without hindering their performance levels.
