If you are finding lack of value on your Facebook page, you may wonder what is wrong. The audience seems disinterested although your Facebook marketing team is working hard. Why is this happening?

Marketers and companies can no longer hold the attention of Facebook followers through conventional marketing methods. You need to get onto the same level as your customers and start communicating, discussing, entertaining, sharing tidbits, answering questions and getting involved in their lives. It is not just about displaying an ad and hoping your followers will click on it. Facebook is an interactive and communication platform, it has always been. And if your audience feels a disconnect between the ad you place and their role in it, they are least likely to click on it.

Your ad has to match the platform you are on. Do not make Facebook into something it isn’t. Communicate before you place the ad, communicate during and even after. Here’s how you get the most out of your ads?

Have a simple status. Marketers think they need to complicate or reinvent the wheel. Sometimes, simple is sufficient. A single status may receive more engagement than with a link, for instance. All it takes may be a simple question to start a conversation. If you are a fitness trainer, for instance, you can post regular workout tips and ideas. Apart from this, engage your fans in the following ways.

Offer success stories, like before and after pictures

Easy to make, healthy and balanced meals

Music playlist for a fitness routine

Healthy snack ideas

Avoid making the mistake of getting too personal. Remember, you are the business and you need to stay professional.

Know what adds value. What is the benefit your customers will get from using your product or service? If they can imagine using what you have to offer, the deal is done. You have managed to sell it to them. This should be your aim. Nudge people towards the very thing you are attempting to sell.

Getting a healthy level of engagement will take time, so don’t lose heart. If you are a small business it will take time to build your brand and establish it as credible. Persist until you achieve results, because results will come. Continue to reach out to your audience and deliver something of value, they will loosen up and respond to your questions, ideas and suggestions. This will make your Facebook marketing efforts seem smoother and more productive.
