When starting with online advertising many choose to run Google advertising campaigns. Because of the high amount of traffic that Google receives, it makes a great option for your company and products or services to be seen. In order to ensure that your Google campaign is successful, it is necessary to integrate keywords. These are words that help match content with result listings on search engines, such as Google. Your campaign is essentially when you pay for your advertisement to appear when someone uses the keywords you have assigned to your content.

When done effectively, Google Ads management can be hyper-targeted to ideal demographics which results in higher engagement levels for your web pages. In order to see which keywords are best to use, you will have to do some research before considering website development.

Choosing keywords should be done in a highly specific way. Make sure that there is a clear relevance between your keyword and the product or service that you are offering. Tying the keywords into your written content, especially on your website’s landing page, can help increase the relevance of the words that people will be searching for.

Good website design involves research to optimize your results. Keyword difficulty and competitive density should be taken into account.

Keyword Difficulty refers to how difficult it is to rank for a particular word or phrase. If the difficulty is higher that means there are a lot of competitors and if it is lower, it means the word or the phrase does not have high competition. The higher the competition of a keyword, the more backlinks you will need to have in your ad content.

The competitive density of a keyword refers to how many websites are looking to pay to feature similar content at the top of result listings.

You can choose different keyword match types when creating a Google campaign. These are:

  1. Broad match

Words that relate to your keyword will also display your advertisement.

  1. Phase match

Your advertisements can also show on words or phrases that include the meaning of your keyword. For example “person to cut hair” versus “barber”.

  1. Exact match

Advertisements will show on searches that are the exact same or have the exact same meaning as your keyword.

Another tip is to make sure you use multiple keywords. It may sound like common sense, but using 3-5 keywords can help to better increase your reach. Creating new keyword combinations and making use of trends can be made easy with Google’s Keyword planner.

Using longer phrases or words can also be helpful. Sometimes a single word can be too generic. Consider using more complex phrases. For example, opt for “antique modernist wooden furniture” instead of “furniture shop”.

When considering the reach of your ads, be sure to filter out any negative keywords that you may not want to be associated with your brand. Choosing what areas you target is equally as important as the areas you do not want to target. Make sure to enter these restrictions when placing a Google ad.

Getting optimal results for eCommerce web design does not have to be difficult for yourself or your marketing team if you make use of these basic principles.
