Millions of people search for something every day. It is mind blowing. Businesses have an audience at your fingertips, but not many understand the concept of connecting to them. If you want to connect you need to know what words they use and which questions they ask. Keyword research doesn’t have to be complicated. You just need insight on how to connect to your audience in the way they want.

Have keyword research for blog categories

Have at least ten blog categories so that you can rank for popular keywords and topics you think might interest your audience. Organize your blog so that it will help readers find content which is relevant. Decide on the exact names of each category, sort keywords on monthly searches from the lowest to the highest and see which words are the most targeted amongst your audience.

Include keywords in your FAQs. If you answer questions on your product or service it will give insight to your readers and provide them with value on certain topics. It will also give you credibility as an industry expert. While FAQs include long tail keywords ranking them is much easier than short tail keywords. It also adds value to your site.

Research your competitor’s content. What is your audience most interested in reading? If you have a particular keyword or keyword phrase look for the most popular pages referencing those very words.

Do not force content which is not relevant to a particular page to increase search engine optimization. You need to always think through on the value you offer your readers and fit content accordingly. Instead integrate non relevant topics to a content page naturally, do not make it seem forced.

Test your keywords. Enter your keywords and figure out which features pop up. For your product or service related search, for instance, you need to optimize popular keywords and phrases. At the same time, you can optimize for keywords which are rarely used. While some businesses may consider this a risk thinking it will narrow your audience, there is an advantage to this strategy. It will connect you to people who really want to buy your product or service. When you target a broader and wider audience, most clicks you receive will not convert. On the other hand, targeting for keywords that are specific will ensure the clicks will lead to conversions and sales.
