In case you have missed out on trending digital stories, let’s look at things that are likely to interest you.

Direct response ads

Instagram is testing response ads in stories. This is a very Snapchat like feature. A direct response ad allows a person to perform an action which includes registering for a service or downloading an application. It is an appealing format, because the response ad take sup the entire screen. Snapchat has had immense success with it, so now Instagram is following suit.

Freezing eggs

More and more tech companies are willing to pay up to have younger women preserve their eggs. For instance, Google and Yahoo are paying women to save up their eggs now and have a baby later in life. Egg freezing per time costs $10,000. And other large size tech companies are contemplating this venture.

Facebook moderation guidelines

Facebook has revealed moderation policies. Facebook’s internal rule book offers guidelines moderating violet terrorist content or showing cruelty against animals. Some of the moderators are obviously not having a good time on the job. When interviewed recently, one man claimed all they do is sit and watch people cut off their heads. This is the real world we live in.

Amazon opens a NY bookstore

Manhattan saw its first Amazon bookstore opened recently and this has got many book lovers excited. With paper cover and hardcover books going out of season, and ebooks becoming the norm, it is profoundly nostalgic to see Amazon give books the place it deserves in our history.

Zuckerberg is becoming more political

Mark Zuckerberg seems to be in the thick of politics these days. He gave a speech at Harvard recently on the rise of authoritarianism and nationalism. He was highly critical of the system and the immediate struggles facing students who are heavily indebted as a result of attending college. Mark never graduated from his original batch at Harvard, and yet became a billionaire. Zuckerberg promoted universal basic income, healthcare and childcare for all Americans in this speech.
